I got my start in technology in middle school when I started running game servers for Mojang’s popular game, Minecraft. The servers were massively successful with over 100 unique weekly players. By implementing a system of microtransactions, the servers netted revenue of around $5000. At the same time, I was building websites and forums for the communities of players who had formed on my servers. This exposed me to technologies such as MyBB, Wordpress, Drupal, and Joomla.
In high school, my friends and I would use our knowledge of computer hardware to refurbish the old computers that my high school would have otherwise thrown away. We would later donate them to the graduating seniors of different inner city Philadelphia schools to help them further their education beyond high school.
In recent years, I’ve cofounded a startup called planIt which serves to help people make plans and get together. I’ve also done contract work for various companies in web development and consulting. I also invest and trade cryptocurrencies. I’m currently double majoring in computer science and economics at New York University. I’m interested in machine learning, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and data science. My hobbies include going to hackathons, working on projects with my friends, and following the latest tech trends.
